Wanted to give you all a sneak peek of a little project on my heart coming soon - my first bedtime book illustrated by and in collaboration with the wonderful @meganwillin! 📕 Rocking and reading together with our babies 👶 is one of the best memories of life for me. Reading bedtime books, as their bodies relaxed and we knew the words by heart…That simple ritual… and others like it…are moments that create a calm bond you don’t realize until they are grown. 🫶🏼 The same way my grandmother rocking me with her rose 🌹 perfume and warm sweater lives with me. Goodbye Today launches December 5, so more details to come soon along with a few fun things that might make a snuggly companion gift for the holidays to wind down and sleep a little better. This is the job that always keeps on giving. There is no business card that comes with it. Probably because it takes going outside the box to create your unique expression as a family. Being a parent…or a guide, or a teacher in a child’s life will cultivate all the things within you if you allow it, LOVE, leadership, faith, forgiveness, freedom, compassion, consistency, curiosity, joy, laughter and so much more. Smiles and meals and naps and car talks and ranch walks, and yes even tears are the moments that mean more than the metrics. So I savor these summer days, every drop. #thisonelife_ #summer2024

I grew up in Austin and the Texas Hill Country in the 70s and 80s when it was a simpler spot to be. I remember lakes and hiking and hills and green grass. I’d spend hours getting lost and trekking around in nature. I had no idea for a long time other places didn’t look and feel like this. That something special when you are in it. There would be trails and spaces and land with an invisible pull for me. Keeping some of those spaces alive and free appeals to me - especially to pass on and share this experience of the hill country with children. Months ago, when everything was so brown and dry I would drive the roads and I looked out and saw everything the most vivid green like a blink of the mind’s eye. I remember saying out loud in the car, wow, it’s ok, it’s gonna be so green again. Who would have guessed this would be Texas in July. 💚💚Thank you God for the rain, the green grass, the beautiful sky, and for always reminding me to hold a beautiful vision in mind and surrender a bit, like a child - anything you hold in your heart is possible. #naturelover #txhillcountry #airbnbsuperhost #vrbopremierhost
